Using the site

theshedplanner.com is operated by Westernmost LLC, 32 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

A planning aid, not engineering

The Shed Planner produces drawings, cut lists, materials lists and printable plans from the options you enter, using standard framing conventions and simplified structural checks. The results are estimates to help you plan. They are not an engineered design, they are not reviewed for your site, and they do not account for your soil, frost depth, wind exposure, seismic zone, local amendments to the building code or any other local condition.

Before you build, check the plan against the codes and rules that apply where you live, get any permits or approvals required, and consult a qualified engineer, architect or builder where appropriate. Our permit basics guide lists useful questions to ask.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the safe construction of anything you build, for choosing suitable materials, for working safely with tools, and for complying with all applicable laws, codes, permits, zoning rules and homeowners association rules. Quantities are estimates: check them, and allow for mistakes, defects and local board lengths before you order.

No warranty

The site, the designer, the plans and the guides are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work to keep the calculations correct, but we do not guarantee that they are free of errors. The only exception is the guarantee on a builder's plan you buy, described below.

Buying a builder's plan

The designer and the free plans cost nothing. You can also buy a builder's plan: a PDF made for the exact design you enter, for a one-time payment of $29 (US dollars, unless the checkout page shows another currency before you pay). There is no subscription and nothing renews.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. The plan is a digital product delivered immediately: after payment you go to a download page, and the download link works for 30 days. Save a copy of the PDF when you download it.

Our guarantee: if our plan has an error, we fix it or refund you. An error means that the plan does not match the design you bought, or that a number, drawing or calculation in it is wrong. Email us with the address you paid with and what looks wrong. We check it and send you a corrected plan, or refund your payment.

Because the plan is delivered immediately, we do not refund a change of mind once the plan has been downloaded. A plan for a new or changed design is a new purchase. If the download never worked or you were charged twice, contact us and we will put it right. None of this limits the rights you have under the consumer law of your country.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Westernmost LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of the site or of any plan, list or guide, including damage to property, personal injury, material costs, fines or the cost of changes required by a building department.

Plans and content

You may use the designer and print the plans it generates for your own personal, non-commercial projects, including sharing a plan with the people helping you build and with your building department. A builder's plan you buy is licensed for building one shed of that design; please do not share it beyond the people building it. You may not resell the plans, republish the guides or drawings, or offer the designer's output as a product or service without written permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, nothing in these terms takes away the mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of your country.

Changes

We may update the site, the calculations and these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Plans you already downloaded are not updated automatically, so generate a fresh plan if you come back after a while.
